Maurice SendakMaurice Sendak is the author and illustrator of several noteworthy children’s books, among them: In the Night Kitchen, Where the Wild Things Are, Outside, Over There, and We’re All Down in the Dumps with Jack and Guy. He has also designed and produced ballets and operas, notably Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and Prokofiev’s “Love for Three Oranges.” He has also turned Where the Wild Things Are into a popular opera, and has designed a winning production of Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker.”
