Experimental Ethnography

In anthropology, ethnography is conceptualized as both the method and outcome of fieldwork. Classic ethnographic monographs, the original product of this work, have long been criticized for their inability to address power; recently, their form itself has become the site of experimentation. The aim of this working group is to think about the how the movement from experience to discourse may be and has been queered through an engagement with other disciplinary techniques and forms like those of art, film, new media, digital technology and performance studies and practice.
