History of Science and Science & Technology Studies
The History of Science and Science and Technologies Studies working group brings together faculty, graduate student, and visiting scholars interested in cultural studies of science and technology to provide a unique contact zone between the humanities and social studies of science. The group is an interdisciplinary community whose institutional affiliations include the departments of History, Sociology, Anthropology, Environmental Science Policy & Management, Geography, English and Rhetoric. It also attracts a vibrant global community of visiting scholars. Past guests have come from Canada, Norway, Austria, Germany, and Italy. What unifies the group is a humanistic approach to the study of scientific theories, policies, and practices in the past and today.
