The Black/Jewish Diaspora Studies working group takes a global and comparative approach to the field of diaspora studies. Through a study of diasporic literature and thought across continents and languages, we will (re)trace the exchanges between authors of Afro-diasporic and Jewish descent, following their leads for expanding the horizons of diasporic thought into a consideration of diaspora as a literary genre, a political movement, an epistemology, a post-colonial method, and an intellectual discourse.
