Known for his essays on moral and political philosophy, Norbert Bilbeny is Professor of Ethics and Director of the M.A. program in Citizenship and Human Rights at the University of Barcelona. His scholarship focuses on ethics, politics, and globalization—most specifically on the topics of intercultural ethics, moral cosmopolitan identity, and global civil society. Professor Bilbeny’s latest book (written in Catalan) studies the ethical framework for the social integration of newcomers into European societies (Què vol dir integració?, La Magrana, Barcelona, 2010). His next publication will explore the deontological grounds of environmental ethics. He is the recipient of the Josep Pla Prize, the Anagram Test Award, and a Tinker fellowship at the University of Chicago.
