Essayist, poet, novelist, theorist and critic, Silviano Santiago is one of the leading Brazilian modernists focusing on concepts of “inbetweenness” and “hybridity.” Santiago has held teaching positions at the University of New Mexico, Rutgers University, State University of New York at Buffalo the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and Universidade Federal Fluminense. His publications include Stella Manhattan; Uma Literatura nos Trópicos; Nas Malhas da Letra; and Cheiro Forte.
