Helen Fawcett Professor of History Thomas Laqueur was recently interviewed by Terry Gross on NPR's Fresh Air. He discussed his latest book, The Work of the Dead, which offers a richly detailed account of how and why the living have cared for the dead, from antiquity to the twentieth century.
