Jessy Nyiri explores the moral problems and panics by which transsexuality has become widely legible in global politics. Her dissertation, "Transsexual Sympathy: A Rhetoric of Transition," works through the tangle of trans experience and heterosexual morality in British fiction and philosophy of the 18th and 19th centuries.
