Polina Barskova is at work on a book project examining a corpus of literary texts by members of the Second Wave of Russian emigration, who left the Soviet Union following the events of World War II and were accused of collaborating with Nazi Germans. Faced with a complicated historical situation involving impossible political choices, these writers employed literary self-creation in a quest for political identity, redemption, and moral self-rehabilitation.
