In her dissertation, Zijing Fan examines editions published in early modern China and Japan of the first and most famous Chinese historical novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. She explores the mutually-constitutive relationship between early modern fictional narrative and the cultural imagination of China in East Asian everyday knowledge.
