Eric Kotila directs print and electronic communications at the Townsend Center, and manages the Townsend and Art of Writing websites. He has award-winning experience as an editor and designer in Silicon Valley and academia. A recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award while at Berkeley, he has earned Master's in design and architecture, and a BA in French from Yale. He began his career working with leading arts institutions — including the Brooklyn, State Russian, and Harvard Art Museums, and the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation — designing the first electronic publications of their collections. Previously at UC Berkeley he was senior editor at the Institute of European Studies and IBER at Haas, and has created exhibits, websites, and print communications for the Bancroft Library, Scandinavian, and other campus departments.
