Bilad al-Sham Histories is a space for collaborative research on the histories of the region of the eastern Mediterranean — Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine. We welcome graduate students across disciplines, including history, Middle Eastern languages and cultures, political science, geography, anthropology, and sociology. Given the centrality of the region in political and historical discourse within the United States and globally today, our working group offers a space to center and humanize the region.
